Grammy nominations for Andsnes, Trio Mediæval, the Trondheim Soloists and Lindberg Lyd

Norwegian performers and producers are nominated in five categories for the Grammy Awards.

Norway’s foremost classical pianist, Leif Ove Andsnes, Trio Mediæval, The Trondheim Soloists as well as highly respected sound engineers Morten Lindberg and Hans Peter L’Orange representing production company Lindberg Lyd have all received Grammy nominations this week.

In the category “Best Instrumental Soloist(s) Performance (with Orchestra)”, Leif Ove Andsnes is nominated for his recording of Mozart’s ‘Piano Concertos 17 & 20’.

The Trondheim Soloists’ release ‘Divertimenti’ is nominated in no less than three categories. Sound engineers Morten Lindberg and Hans Peter L’Orange, representing the record label 2L and production company Lindberg Lyd, are nominated in the “Best Engineered classical album” and “Best surround sound album”.

In addition to the nomination bestowed upon the release’s producers, conductor Øyvind Gimse is nominated in the category “Best Small Ensemble performance/conductor”.

Vocal ensemble Trio Mediæval (who recently toured the US with great success) is also nominated for a Grammy in the “Best Chamber Music Performance” category.

The winners of the Grammy Awards will be announced during a major televised show on February 8th.
