The Trondheim Soloists to tour Asia with Anne-Sophie Mutter
Late May and early June will see Norway’s foremost young ensemble, the Trondheim Soloists touring Asia with soloist icon Anne-Sophie Mutter.
Late May/early June will see The Trondheim Soloists, Norway’s foremost young ensemble, off on tour again, this time to the Far East with highly renowned soloist Anne Sophie Mutter.
The Trondheim Soloists are set to perform 13 concerts in Shanghai, Beijing, Taichung, Tainan, Taipei, Seoul, Hong Kong, Osaka, Toyota, Kurashikia and Tokyo. The leading orchestra will be performing in many of the most important venues across the region, including the new National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing!
This tour will once again reunite Ms Mutter with the Trondheim Soloists, a highly successful collaboration which has already resulted in extensive tours to Europe and the USA as well as the release of the hugely popular Vivaldi Four Seasons album for DG.
This time the programme will include Bach’s Violin Concerto in E Major, BWV 1042 and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as well as Bartok’s Divertimento for String Orchestra the Divertimento.
This tour will also mark the Far East release of Ms Mutter’s new CD with the Trondheim Soloists for DG, of Bach Concerti. It will also mark the release of the Trondheim Soloists own recording of works by Britten, Bacewicz, Bjørklund and Bartok’s Divertimento for 2L records.
The Trondheim Soloists
The ensemble TrondheimSolistene from Norway was founded in 1988 by Professor Bjarne Fiskum. Artistic Director today is the cellist Øyvind Gimse. The orchestra is one of the most exciting young ensembles performing on the international stage. Through the orchestra’s dedication, commitment and enthusiasm it has quickly established itself as the most innovative chamber ensemble in Norway with invitations to collaborate with artists of the highest level across a broad range of genres. As a result after many concerts throughout Europe as well as concert tours to the USA, Japan and Brazil, TrondheimSolistene has grown to be an ensemble of international renown.
Anne-Sophie Mutter
Anne-Sophie Mutter was born in Rheinfelden in Baden. She embarked on her international career as a soloist in 1976 at the Lucerne Festival and a year later made her Salzburg debut at the Whitsun Concerts under Herbert von Karajan.
Ever since then she has been one of the greatest violin virtuosos of our time. Anne-Sophie Mutter has performed concerts in all the major music centers of Europe, the USA and Asia. In addition to performing major traditional works she has continually treated her audiences to new and innovative repertoires: chamber music and orchestral works presented on equal terms. She also uses her popularity for charity projects and supports the development of young, exceptionally talented musicians.
