Thomas Dybdahl unplugged

The Norwegian master of autumnal melancholy, who with his latest album turned to soul, will give three special purely acoustic concerts in the US in July.

Thomas Dybdahl

Science, Dybdahl’s album of last year, focused on outdoor heat and summery soul, rather than the fine fireplacing that marked his celebrated October trilogy. His fans, staunch as they are, seemed to like to shift, and for summer festivals it’s probably fitting: since the sun never sets up north it is perhaps more natural to dance than swirl like a reddened maple leaf. Dybdahl will play a few festivals in Norway and Denmark, chief of which is the imminent Roskilde.

Then, in July he goes to the US to do three acoustic shows in Philadelphia (17th), Boston (18th) and New York (19th). It will be a welcome return for his American fans that last saw him on tour with Sondre Lerche this spring, after the US release of Science in March.
