Bøyen Beng: Bombe

MIC's Listen to Norway series continues with Bøyen Beng's 'Bombe'

Bøyen Beng: Bombe (cover)

Oslo’s folk-punk institution Bøyen Beng are soon due to celebrate their twentieth anniversary, and last year’s album Bombe (Bomb) is their eight release. Spawned from the anarchist-socialist ”Blitz-movement”, which enjoyed its height of turmoil-generation and recognition in the early nineties, the band stays true, as always, to their expression, viz. hard and fast punk, sporting an ever present “folksy” fiddle, and with words that voice the concerns of the streets. Despite the changes in the movement to which the band belongs, Bøyen Beng has proved its longevity and for their dedicated following they are still a true voice to be reckoned with.
