Norwegian showcases at Popkomm 2004

No less than ten Norwegian bands are confirmed to play showcases at this year’s Popkomm trade fair in Berlin.

The Norwegian presence at Popkomm’s showcase stages has grown steadily over the last few years. This year the event is held in Berlin, and with the plethora of vibrant venues on offer, Music Export Norway brings along no less than ten bands. Spanning the spectrum from melancholic pop to psychedelic desert-rock to hip-hop, this year’s Popkomm showcases represent a vivid cross section of the current trends on the Norwegian scene.

The first showcases are held at Frannz (Kulturbrauerei) on the 29 September. The bands that are set to play are Emmerhoff & The Melancholy Babies, Hello Goodbye, Minor Majority, Thomas Dybdahl (pictured above) and Datarock (below).

Three acts play three different venues on September 30: Washington play the Club 23 Golden (at the Kulturbrauerei) while Equicez play the Casino and Ephemera play the Kalkscheune.

Gåte and Furia play the Club 23 Silver at the Kulturbrauerei on the 1st of October.
